Any new investment visa will inevitably be viewed through the lens of the Tire 1 program, which the previous government closed in 2022 due to the abuse and use of the scheme for capital laundering. In the new version, the Government is likely to introduce stricter selection criteria and verification procedures in order to avoid reputational risks.
According to insiders, the new visa, like the previous one, will exclude investments in real estate. Industries that meet national priorities will remain open for investment under the program.
Discussions on a new investment visa in the UK are taking place against the background of the fact that the United States continues to pursue an aggressive policy of attracting capital. Trump proposed his "golden visa" program. Investors who contribute $5 million directly to the U.S. Treasury will be provided with the so-called "Trump's gold card" and the opportunity to obtain citizenship.
