Demand for rental housing is growing in France

The crisis in the real estate market in France has also affected the rental market.

The demand for rental of furnished apartments increased by 18% compared to October 2023, and rental terms increased.

Furnished apartments are usually rented for a short period of time, and tenants often change. However, today this trend is unfolding before our eyes. The rental period of such apartments has increased to an average of 8 months in Paris and up to 12 months in the regions.

There are still many students among the tenants, but married couples and families have joined them. There are not enough new offers to buy on the market. Those who cannot find a suitable purchase option for themselves decide to rent.

It is noted that many owners sell furnished apartments, thus withdrawing them from the rental market. The supply of rental housing is limited, and good apartments are found by tenants just a few hours after the announcement is published.
