Home sales in Turkey in September 2025 increased by 6.9% compared to the same month last year, according to a report by the Turkish Statistical Institute.Provinces with the most transactions: Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.
Home sales in January-September increased by 19.2% compared to the same period last year.
Sales are going up this year mainly due to an increase in mortgage transactions (in September they increased by 34.4% year-on-year). Mortgages are not available to foreigners.
Apartment sales and homes for citizens of other countries decreased by 7.7% compared to the same month last year, amounting to 1,867 units. The share of transactions with foreigners in the total volume was only 1.2%.
The provinces of Turkey where visitors have bought the largest number of properties: Istanbul (744 units), Antalya, including Alanya (557 units) and Mersin (124 units).
Property sales to foreigners in January and September decreased by 12.6% compared to the same period last year, to 14,944 units.
As usual, Russians are in the lead among buyers from abroad (267 transactions). This is followed by citizens of Iran (202 transactions), Iraq (146 transactions), Germany, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, and the United Kingdom.
