Prices for secondary real estate in the Netherlands increased by 8.7% in 2024, according to the country's Statistical Office and the Land Registry. In December, apartments and houses were on average 10.9% more expensive than in the same month a year earlier.
Prices for finished housing peaked in July 2022.Then the trend reversed, and houses became somewhat cheaper.However, since June 2023, prices have gone up again.Last month, prices were on average 7.6% higher than at the previous peak in July 2022.
The average value of real estate on the secondary market in December 2024 was 455,500 euros.
According to the Land Registry, 203,555 apartments and houses were sold last year, which is almost 12% more than in 2023.
As the purchasing power of the population has improved and there are few offers for sale, prices continue to rise.
