In August 2024, prices for apartments and houses in Portugal, according to the Idealista index, increased by 9.1% compared to the same month last year, reaching an average of 2,722 euros per sq.m.
Housing has risen in price in cities over the year:
- Ponta Delgada (+20%),
- Leiria (+17.2%),
- Portalegre (+15.4%),
- Funchal (+14.4%),
- Visa (+10.4%),
- Braga (+10.4%),
- Braganza (+8.9%),
- Castelo Branco (+8.4%),
- Setubal (+7.7%),
- Guarda (+7.5%),
- Porto (+7.2%),
- Evora (+6.9%),
- Vila Real (+6.8%),
- Lisbon (+6%),
- Coimbra (+5.8%),
- Headlight (+3.9%),
- Beige (+3.4%),
- Santaren (+3.1%),
- Aveiro (+2.4%).
The most expensive real estate is still in Lisbon: 5634 euros per sq.m.The second and third places are occupied by Porto (3639 euros per sq. m.) and Funchal (3428 euros per sq.m.).
This is followed by Faro (2976 euros per sq. m.), Aveiro (2556 euros per sq. m.), Setubal (2466 euros per sq. m.), Evora (2182 euros per sq. m.), Ponta Delgada (2030 euros per sq. m.), Coimbra (1933 euros per sq. m.), Braga (1927 euros per sq. m.), Viana do Castelo (1869 euros per sq. m.), Leiria (1571 euros per sq. m.), Viseu (1500 euros per sq. m.) and Vila Real (1320 euros per sq.m.).
The most affordable cities for housing are Guarda (802 euros per sq. m.), Portalegre (838 euros per sq. m.), Castelo Branco (864 euros per sq. m.), Beja (977 euros per sq. m.), Braganza (990 euros per sq. m.) and Santaren (1201 euros per sq. m. m).
