Ferragudu is located at the mouth of the Arade River and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the region. It has a long history, which can be seen walking around the village. Its cobbled streets are lined with whitewashed houses, bright flowers and painted doorways give a bright color.

The harbor is filled with colorful fishing boats and surrounded by fantastic seafood restaurants and charming cafes.

Ferraguda also has a sandy beach on the riverbank with the impressive Castelo de São João do Arade fortress located directly above it.
